I’ve been shopping! How good it is to say that after a length of time when only on-line shopping was possible.

Those doors at the mall just opened the minute they saw me and I thought “I am just meant to be here”(lol).

Back at home base and I’m pretty stoked with the results as my shopping experience was very homeware focused. I am loving the magic, transformational powers of lighting, and the ability drapes have to snug up a room.

My dining room with its high, pitched ceiling now sports two, gorgeous pendants which are a beautiful blend of white and a light timber – a Scandinavian aesthetic. The wall washes are of similar tones. Meanwhile, for my living room (which has a wonderful, snug ambience) I selected the rattan look for the standard-height, regular ceiling and am loving the pattern they throw out.

Check out my new lights below. The price of my purchases has also been a thrill as the sales are massive – the ticket prices on some of my purchases noted a 40 per cent reduction. My family room received some attention too – the time to remove the very outdated Austrian blinds had come (it was so long overdue and the frou-frou was driving me crazy) and they’ve been replaced with drapes.

I feel as if I have reclaimed this room, which has been a makeshift office for my husband who has been working from home as our team of 5 million marched on down the Covid-19 levels. The extra office desk chair and screen have left the building. The plants and magazines are back on the surfaces where they belong, replacing files and computer paraphernalia, and home is starting to feel more like… well, home, again.

And shopping is feeling like shopping again, which is great on various levels, including it being a perfect time to benefit from the sales and assist our retailers.

Enjoy the freedom of shopping how we used to.
